I prefer to intuitively understand ecosystems through experience, and build my understanding through observation and experimentation. Finding unique ways to present information outside of our classical knowledge systems is a therapeutic way for me to heal the emotional wounds of passing through the education system.
In general I want to elevate standard unexamined objects to transformative art pieces. I love taking a piece of wood that could be considered scrap and turning it into a useful and beautiful object that can last a lifetime if properly cared for. More than anything I feel like I do not measure up to the standards of the people that I wish to. When I am making something unique and creative this feeling dissipates and I can admire and accept the world as it is.
The undervalued unappreciated elements of our modern world are in fact the lost solutions to the many systemic and endemic problems of our time. We are going to have to embrace solutions that we have previously eliminated rather than finding more and more efficient ways to achieve the same outcomes. I want to call into question the hierarchical assumptions that we as humans place on top of the world. I love the part of science where you learn empirical truths about the nature of reality, as a neurodivergent I rarely felt that these concepts were available for me to participate in.
